How is Student Life in Navodaya Vidyalaya?
I am Pt. Anshuman Pathak who is a student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Navsari. I am writing about the life of students of Navodaya Vidyalaya. So first let us see about the daily routine of the children in Navodaya Vidyalaya. Early morning starts with the chirping of birds and the school siren.
We wake up at 5:30 in the morning which makes our mind feel good, then at 6:10 there is morning roll call and counting then P.T. By 6:45 we do P.T. and go inside the house with the intention of keeping our body healthy. Now the time we have left is for us to freshen up and get ready. In which some people sleep and in the last 20 minutes they freshen up and get ready. Seeing all this, it seems that the children of Navodaya have some talent. Then we have to reach the academy block i.e. Sakal at 7:45. Then classes start from 8:00 am. In which 2 classes are held first, then breakfast time is at 9:30, then by 10:00 the food is ready and studies begin and this study goes on till 1:40, then from 1:40 there is lunch time which lasts till around 2:20, the time left after this is our rest time. From 3:10 till 4:30, after that sports time, during sports time we play many games, in which all the equipment is provided by the government.
Our sports time ends by 5:45. After playing, it is time to have lunch. From 6:30 onwards, we have our supervised study i.e. night study. In self study, boys and girls study separately. This study ends by 8:00 pm. Then we have dinner at 8:00 pm, in which we all go to the mess together and take food in a line. Then all of us pray together and recite mantras, which also enhances the taste of the food. By 8:45 everyone has eaten and by 9:30 our housemaster comes to count us and have a chat with us regarding our problems. In which he talks to us very openly. This chat can go on for about half an hour or sometimes even more. The time after that is our time, in this we all either study or sit with friends and have fun-filled conversations. By 11:00 pm, everyone gets tired and goes to sleep and the lights of all the houses are switched off. And the same system starts again from morning. This is the daily routine of Navodaya Vidyalaya, what the children do in it, how they live.
