Engagement of Skill Teacher in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya

Maximum 02 skill teachers may be engaged in a JNV purely on contract basis, at par with TGT on contract, following the NVS guidelines for engagement of contract teachers and eligibility criteria defined by CBSE.

JNVs under SANKALP project:

• Two skill labs have been provided in a JNV under SANKALP. Maximum 02 skill teachers as per job roles of skill labs may be engaged in a JNV. However, if post of PGT Computer Science/ IT is sanctioned in JNV, then Al skill subject at senior secondary level will be taken by PGT- CS/ IT.
• For AR/VR lab, no additional teacher is to be engaged as the equipment are to be used as teaching aid for related subject in all classes.
• Hence, if any JNV have Al lab and AR/VR lab with post of PGT-CS/IT sanctioned in JNV, The JNV will not engage any additional teacher for SANKALP labs. In such case, JNV may start 2nd skill subject at Secondary/ 2 Senior Secondary level, mapped with existing skill lab under any project other than SANKALP.

For JNVs not having SANKALP Project

• One skill teacher may be engaged by JNVs for the skill subject mapped with the available Skill Lab and 2nd skill teacher may be engaged only if the school is having any other skill subject at Secondary or Senior Secondary level.
• If under special circumstances, engagement of 3rd Skill teacher is required in any JNV, the proposal with proper justification may be sent for approval to NVS Hqrs through regional office.
• The remuneration of one skill teacher engaged in JNV may be booked under PM SHRI Scheme provision for skill teacher for session 2025-26, the expenditure for remaining skill teachers may be booked under normal funds.
